Given my own enormous cultural blindspots I refuse to expect anyone else to know anything about anything ever. If I did, karma dictates that someone would ask me the name of a movie from before 1970 and I'd be forced to embarrass myself.

As for my lovely wife, she had a hippie mom who liked to have fun with solemn Jewish holidays, so i wasn't overly surprised.
