I always wondered in that story if those two "angels" were either spacemen on a soon-to-fail mission to recover a lost explosive device, or maybe time traveling Jewish cyborgs sent back to protect the ancestors of Marty Allen.
All things considered it's pretty fortunate that the spaceguys lost their bomb in the middle of the worst place on earth, so it all worked out in the end.
